Division fo the Air

The mole cricket has emerged from his earthly domain to study alchemy in the House of Learning. Alas, for the beautiful Madam Nightjar, Muse of Science, has lost favour with that ancient art. The learned have turned to Physics and Chemistry. They use lenses to bend light and separate carbon dioxide from calcium carbonate using sulphuric acid. The Book of Alchemy teaches that Air is a pure indivisible element, but the new books teach that the air is made of many gases, and can be divided.
Sadly for the mole cricket, his studies are outmoded, and nightjars love the taste of insects.
